GMC Sports Report – Week of 16 January

Varsity Boys played this weekend (January 14&15) in the Saint Al’s Basketball Tournament.  With John and Jack fighting hard for those rebounds down low helping score.  Christian, Andreas, and Brandon as Guards helping on offensive, defensive, and scoring added to our success in winning a few games and learning how to play with one another.  Justin, Jake, and Anthony assisting with great passes and also helping in moving the ball around drawing fouls to allow us some free throws. Christian G also played injured but hung in there to help the team.  Great Job!!!

Principal Thoughts

This year’s theme “Catholic Schools:  Faith. Academics. Service.”  In just three words, theis theme expresses what Catholic schools are all about.  we teach our students failth, not just the basics of Christianity, but how to have a relationship with God.  We hold them to high academic standards and do everything we can to help students reach their full potential.  We also teach them how to serve, both as a way to express their faith and to become good citizens.

I am very proud to be part of GMC and I think those who help make George McCann a success:  Monsignor Dreiling, our teachers, staff, board members, parents, families and priests.  Through our dedication and commitement our students are learning in a culture of faith, academics and service that is preparing them for a full life in their families, communities and Catholic Church.

Happy New Year!  May this New Year be filled with special graces and blessings for our and your family.

Mrs. Rast
